Here’s the situation: When PETA fieldworkers first encountered Vinny, the bulldog mix was hanging out at an open-admission shelter in rural Virginia.
When Vinny’s initial owner relinquished the brindle beefcake, the shelter contacted PETA for help.
Back in Norfolk, it took one veterinary assistant about half a second to fall for this gorilla juicehead.
Having experience with breathing-impaired breeds (BIB), the PETA staffer brought the goofy guy home to hang with her own adopted dogs, Mike and Pauly:
While he hasn’t shown any affinity for the original G.T.L.—gyms, tanning, or doing laundry—it’s clear that he’s all about getting three things: a guardian, treats, and all the love. His foster guardian is happy to report that the squatty hottie loves other dogs, cats, and humans. He has a rough-and-tumble play style, so any canine companions should be able to also beat up the beat.
In foster care, Vinny enjoys going on all kinds of adventures.
Vinny is roughly 2 years old, neutered, nearly 40 pounds, and up for an East Coast road trip to his permanent home. Down the Jersey Shore or on Staten Island is preferred but not required. (Jk!)
Dogs like Vinny are intentionally bred to have an unnaturally flat face and a distorted airway. Anyone interested in welcoming Vinny into their homes and hearts must be knowledgeable and/or experienced with the variety of debilitating conditions that BIBs often endure.
Are you ready to enjoy many future Sunday night dinners with this mini Vinny?
As Vinny’s namesake, Jersey Shore’s Vinny Guadagnino, told Us Weekly in 2019: “Adopt! Don’t shop.” E-mail [email protected] to learn more about becoming this deserving dog’s shore thing.
