South Korean singer and BTS member Kim Taehyung, more popularly known as V, shares the passing of his beloved Pomeranian on Monday, December 02.
The BTS member shared the sad news on his Instagram story three days after the release of his newest digital single with renowned South Korean ballad singer Park Hyo-shin entitled ‘Winter Ahead’.
He talked about how time has passed him by and that we’re already towards the end of the year.
However, the BTS member shocked his fans when he revealed that his beloved Pomeranian, named Yeontan, and affectionately referred to as ‘Tannie’ by both his band members and fans, has crossed the rainbow bridge recently.
He wrote in Korean, “Actually the reason why I’m writing this text is because recently Yeontan has left us on a long journey to dog heaven.”
“I thought a lot about how to tell you guys, but since ARMY (BTS fans) you all sent so much love until now, I believed this was the right thing to do and delivered the news,” V added.
V also asked fans to think of Yeontan from time to time, explaining, “I’ll be really thankful if you guys think about Yeontan from time to time so he can be happy in dog heaven.”
The BTS member also wished that everyone can spend a warm end to the year “where you can tell your loved ones around you that you love them one more time.”
In 2023, V reveals in an episode of a Korean YouTube show, called Pixid, that the pooch has heart problems, even undergoing and surviving two heart surgeries that were unsuccessful.
In the episode, V explained, “Tan has a bad heart and had surgery twice. But both times it was unsuccessful. Every time it was unsuccessful, he could have died during the surgery. But his will kept him alive. I was so grateful that he fought for his life.”
Yeontan made his “official debut” in December 2017, during fellow BTS member Jin’s birthday livestream.
Since then, both BTS members and fans have shown the pooch a lot of love as he became as famous as his superstar dad.
As a matter of fact, Yeontan even joined V in the singer’s official solo debut stage in a Korean music show program, and even had his own camera following him all throughout the performance.
We hope Yeontan is having the time of his life in doggy heaven!
