“Factory farming is the most environmentally destructive force in our food system,” said Tyler Whitley, director of The Transfarmation Project®. “It degrades our water, our soil, our air, wildlife, and human health. It robs our children’s children of a happy and healthy future. The shortlisting of The Transfarmation Project® for the Curt Bergfors Food Planet Prize recognizes the severity of factory farming’s harm and the urgency to create solutions. Transfarmation™ is honored to be acknowledged for our contribution to building a sustainable future for people, animals, and our planet.”

“We are deeply honored to be on the short list for the prestigious Food Planet Prize; we do this work with a five-person team, so it feels extra special to be recognized by such a renowned organization with such a wide reach,” said Leah Garcés, founder of The Transfarmation Project®. “This recognition underscores our commitment to creating a resilient food system for future generations, to protecting the environment and making this world better for the animals and ourselves.”

As a finalist, Transfarmation™ will present its pioneering work on June 27 to a jury in Sweden, inviting stakeholders from around the globe to join hands in building a more resilient, equitable and thriving food system for generations to come. The winner will be selected on June 28.
